End of the Semester Event

The End of the Semester Event was held in lab E100 last Thursday, December 6. This was a fabulous Student Chapter event that highlighted graduating interns and allowed each to discuss their experiences and showcase their portfolios.

Jax ASID Meeting with Emma Gardner

The Jacksonville ASID meeting for November will be held Thursday, November 15th at Oasis Rugs, 8110 Cypress Plaza Drive, #104. Award-winning designer, Emma Gardner, will be the guest speaker. Ms. Gardner who was born in Kyoto , Japan and currently lives in Litchfield, CN was given the “Best of Year” award by Interior Design magazine for the design of “Joy,” an original, colorful rug that she created. She will discuss new rug designs and colors.

Portfolio Tips & Tactics

Speakers include Melinda Howell from Catlin Design and Jose Cardenes and John Perez from Rink Design. Also, thanks to Melinda for the ASID sponsored dinner!

Please join us for our November event (and dinner): Portfolio "Tips & Tactics" on Thursday, November 8th at 5:30pm in room E-104. Our guest speakers include Jose Cardenas and Rebecca Crosby from Rink Design and Melinda Howell from Catlin Design.

This will be a fantastic opportunity to get great information on putting together a successful portfolio. Whether you are a new student or nearing graduation - it is never to soon to start thinking about your portfolio! So don't miss this one!!

Trunk-or-Treat

Come enjoy food, games, treats, raffles, fun, contests, and prizes at the 4th Annual Trunk-or-Treat Event! A Free event for you, your family and friends! Custome contest for the kids!

The trunk entry fee is $65. Teams must be made up of one manufacturer's representative and one design firm. The trunk contest categories are Most Creative, Scariest, and Best Use of Rep.'s Material. ASID "Town Hall" Meeting

TONIGHT!!!

ASID will be holding a “Town Hall” style meeting on Thursday, October 18th to discuss a variety of topics including licensure, LEED accredidation, upcoming events, and fundraising ideas.

Refreshments begin at 5:30 and the meeting will start around 6:00. ProSource is located at:

This will be a great opportunity to hear about news and events affecting the chapter! They will devote the last 20 minutes of the meeting to an open floor discussion.
